What your dues pay for
Case research
Reading filings, pulling crash records, and preparing the submissions that go into the city's record.
Beautification
The alleys, the medians, the tree canopy, and the Gilbert and Avondale triangles.
Showing up
Eight gatherings a year, and a presence at the Oak Lawn Committee, the Plan Commission and Council.
There is more than one way in
Some neighbors read filings. Some pull weeds. Some just bring a folding chair and say hello. All of it counts โ and none of it requires dues.
Read the filings, ask the hard questions
We collect neighborhood input, dig into site plans, and carry what we hear into the rooms where decisions get made โ the Oak Lawn Committee, the City Plan Commission, and Dallas City Council.
How the committees workSidewalks, corners, medians and leftover parcels
Phase 1 is the Gilbert and Avondale Triangles โ low-maintenance plantings, simple seating, and modest design elements that say you are in SOHIP. Volunteer days are posted on the events calendar.
Ask about a volunteer dayBe the neighbor your block already asks
Block captains pass along what matters, help new neighbors find their footing, and tell the board what they are hearing. We are still filling out the roster.
Ask about a blockSocials, volunteer days, and the general meeting
We bring neighbors together for social events and share the updates that matter. No membership required to attend โ just show up.
